The full Sanhedrin, about 70 elderly Jewish men in rich tunics and tallitot (prayer shawls), surround Jesus. Jesus stands in the center, looking exhausted but maintaining a majestic, silent patience. Caiaphas and other priests are leaning forward angrily from their seats, shouting questions with raised hands. Dust motes dance in the bright sunbeams.
